I found that you can skip the step of placing the internal shelves in and get the second end all lined up and fastened in without the weigh of the shelves hindering your progress. However, there is no way of tightening the straps over ball of foot/upper, so they became quite baggy after wearing a few times. Feel and build quality is great too.
