Few things stand out: 1) Higher quality foam -- its still soft but has a tiny bit of grip, so it doesnt fall out of the ear. I can tell you it can easily fit 45lb plates on either side (if I had any) and then you just have to account for the size that goes above it. This has made a world of difference!
