Our only issue was when caught in a downpour, the purple ink bled into the pants my kiddo was wearing. They might be too wide if you have a narrow foot, but they do lace up, so they can be tightened to your preference. I contacted the seller by email them. I ordered burgandy but the color is more red than we wanted, but fortunately, it wasnt a deal breaker. The clamp itself is plastic and seems heavy duty as well.
