Theres a silver button on the left ear-pad (theres an "L" and "R" inscribed faintly on the adjustment piece above each ear-pad), and you have to press and "hold down" the button until a voice tells you the earphones are connected. Four of my Apple lightning cables have deteriorated to the point of non-use and all at this one weak point. The only part Im not in love with is the stand. She has other Keen shoes (similar styles) that are all size 9. Overall, I cant recommend this product at all because of the awful software and total inability to adjust any basic functions of the mouse without it.
