I purchased it for my sorority sisters wedding and it was absolutely perfect. I rotate them so I know which is which. It is perfect! The sole is already separating from the cork base. I couldnt do a head to head as I didnt have any of my other headphones along, but unlike other noise cancelling headphones that did not sound good with music, the MDR-1000xs were very, very good. In fact the shoe is a very beautiful heel and although I ordered a champagne color shoes I received a heel that looks nearly pink. Which means that hair in a pony tail or thick hair or hair that is "put up" (bun or scrunchie or whatever) wont fit. It always gets compliments.
