No additional programming needed, i just dropped my ear buds into the case and boom, ready to go. They are very soft on outside and inside. My only issue is that it doesn?t close completely without me holding it closed. I still may get another and just add the longer bars on the sides to increase the height of tiers but I would only have half of a shelf. They should flatten the end after the head is attached so it cant come off. I advise ordering SCARPA HS12 boot wax or Nikwax Nubuck treatment as SCARPA only recommends specific treatments - check the SCARPA webpage. Sony products that I own have passed the test of time, quality and ruggedness. Overall, Im very satisfied with it! It hits the top of my shoes. Good rubber sole and plenty of Velcro on the straps so very secure.
