When I want to use it for quiet background music, its sometimes a bit louder than Id like; and 2) I cant really leave one room of my apartment (iPhone in my pocket) and have the speaker continue playing a room or two away. My 5 year old is super picky with shoes. Not a huge deal though, you can just turn it off and use your tv sound late at night. My only complaint is that at the end of the day they do leave a black coloration on the bottom of my feet.
