Hard to tell from photo but middle tread is not attached except that it is a part of the entire bottom of shoe. These seem very thin and cheaply made which is probably why they only cost ten bucks. Hard to find Mary Janes so Im keeping these and buying an insole. The back cross bar would not fit "engage", because the brackets were to close to together to align. The product looks better in person, a nice dark black color, the embroidered features are well done and the cat ears are adorable. Leather is good quality and soft. Only things is after wearing it for awhile it begins to kink or bend creating creases and pinch areas.
