Have already tested them for that without pain. For long lasting hair removal, I use philips epilator. He wanted a wireless headset for ease and he is really pleased with them. Sadly, you get what you paid for. I have tried to get off of it, but it does do something to my skin, hard to define, smoother perhaps, fewer brown spots. They are made of a soft rubber so right out of the box (actually they came in a zip-lock bag) they felt fantastic. My son has already taken them for a test run for kayaking, and they did the trick. Works great since when folded away is not noticeable and when extended, uses no hallway space since it swings back over the stair. I first emailed 12 South the day I received it, asking why the instructions said it took 2-3 hours to charge, and mine had been charging over six hours and the charge light was still on. Not a very easy and quick to setup and connect the headset to the base unit, though everything is automatic.
