The volume and mute buttons works as described. The mounting was on the back and being the typical man, I was positive I could just guess where the brackets needed screws to mount. Instructions were clear. I wont be using the carabiner, just slipping them into my pocket but its nice to know I can. Same goes for microphones. This face wash is amazing! I found the latter very good for music with a very good spacial feel and "Balance" pretty good for spoken word. The earbuds would loosen too easily. Also, the mic allows you to stand back too due to the higher level of sensitivity yet no feedback issues either. We do have it screwed into a wall stud, so no problem with it possibly falling off the wall.
